Chelsea sweat over Courtois

Brazil ladies ‘in harmony and ready’ for World Cup challenge

Chelsea are anxiously waiting to hear the extent of Thibaut Courtois' knee injury, after the goalkeeper suffered an injury in training.

Courtois underwent further tests on Thursday to determine the severity of his injury, with an official diagnosis set to be delivered at manager Jose Mourinho’s pre-match press conference on Friday.

While it is understood that the 23-year-old did not damage cruciate ligaments, the Belgium international will almost definitely miss Chelsea's clash with Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday, and could be out of action for as long as two months.

Courtois' injury is a major blow for the Blues, who have begun their Premier League title defence poorly and have won just one out of their opening four games.

With Courtois set to miss the clash with the Toffees, Asmir Begovic, who joined Chelsea from Stoke City for £8 million, will start in goal.
