Former Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti believes Cristiano Ronaldo will beat Lionel Messi to the prestigious Pichichi Trophy this campaign.
Given to the top scorer in the Spanish La Liga, Ronaldo has won the last two trophies following an incredible run of form that has seen him score 79 goals in 65 La Liga games.
The Portuguese did not the back of the net in either of Los Blancos' opening two games this campaign, but Ancelotti is confident that Ronaldo will soon get up and running and has backed him to topple his rival Messi as this season's top scorer.
"It is a bit strange that neither Ronaldo, nor Messi has scored yet this [Liga] season," Ancelotti is quoted as saying by FourFourTwo.
"But I do not have any doubts about Cristiano. I know him very well and I am willing to bet that he will win the Pichichi trophy again this season.
"When I was in charge last season, he scored 61 goals in all competitions. He really was incredible."
