New Inter Milan midfielder Ivan Perisic is delighted to have made the move to San Siro, and is already beginning to feel the anticipation for the upcoming Milan derby.
The 26-year-old Croatia international had been pursued by the Nerazzurri throughout the transfer window and was finally prized away from Wolfsburg on a five-year contract, although he hasn't actually arrived in Italy yet.
"I still have to have my first training session with the team, there will be time to speak about tactics with the coach," he said. "But above all I must earn a place by working hard during the week.
"One thing for certain is that I'm beginning to understand and feel the importance of the match against Milan. We'll do everything to beat them in a match this special."
Inter will face the Rossoneri on Sunday looking for their third win in as many Serie A matches this season. It has been a bright start from Inter, who are determined to improve on last season's eighth-place finish.
"I know that Inter are coming off a difficult season, but I believe there's everything in place for us to do well," Perisic added. "The Champions League doesn't matter and I'm planning to play in it next year with the Nerazzurri.
"When a great club comes after you with so much determination and fights for two months against Wolfsburg's resistance, the decision becomes very easy."
