Hope remains for Valdes at United

‘It will be a different in the Spanish Cup final’ – Valverde after Barca draw 2-2 with Eibar

Manchester United outcast Victor Valdes could yet resurrect his career at Old Trafford after being included in their Premier League squad for the 2015/16 campaign.

The Spain international was widely expected to leave United during the recent transfer window, having been told by Louis van Gaal he had no future at the club.

His apparent refusal to play for the Under-21's last term had angered Red Devils boss Van Gaal, who admonished Valdes during the off-season for his indiscipline and lack of respect for the badge.

The former Barcelona goalkeeper was subsequently omitted from United's pre-season touring party and then their Champions League squad, which appeared to signal the end of his playing days at the Theatre of Dreams.

But, after seeing a proposed move to Besiktas fall through on transfer deadline day, Valdes took to Twitter, where he thanked the United fans for their support and pledged to continue working hard.

A glimmer of hope has now appeared on the horizon for the 33-year-old, whose name is on the list of players eligible for league action this season.
