Lightning close in on Stanley Cup final

Marquez suffers big crash in MotoGP Australian GP FP1

The Tampa Bay Lightning are just one win away from the Stanley Cup final after twice coming from behind to beat the Pittsburgh Penguins 4-3 in overtime on Sunday night.

Jason Garrison scored 53 seconds into the extra period as his shot deflected off Tyler Johnson to beat Marc-Andre Fleury, putting Tampa Bay 3-2 up in the Eastern Conference final.

Nikita Kucherov scored twice and Andre Vasilevskiy made 33 saves, but the night started badly for the Lightning as Brian Dumoulin and Patric Hornqvist put Pittsburgh 2-0 up.

Alex Killorn and Kucherov brought Tampa Bay level before Chris Kuntiz gave the Penguins a 3-2 lead.

Kucherov’s second of the night at 16:44 in the third period forced overtime and Tyler Johnson cashed in.

The Lightning reached the Stanley Cup finals last year but lost to the Chicago Blackhawks.
