Shubenkov wins Russia’s first gold

Russia's Sergey Shubenkov won his country's first gold medal at the 2015 Athletics World Championships on Friday by winning the men's 110 metres hurdles.

The 24-year-old won with a time of 12.98 seconds, setting a new national record. 

Shubenkov became the first ever Russian to win a World Championship gold in the 110m hurdles.

The silver medal went to Hansle Parchment of Jamaica in 13.03 and the bronze was won by Aries Merritt of the United States with a time of 13.04 seconds.
