Fresh reports have emerged suggesting VfL Wolfsburg winger Ivan Perisic is on the verge of finally joining Inter Milan on loan.
The 26-year-old has been heavily linked with the Nerazzurri in recent times, with manager Roberto Mancini keen to bolster his attacking options following Xherdan Shaqiri's move to Stoke City.
VfL Wolfsburg sporting director Klaus Allofs appeared confident of a Perisic stay when quizzed on the rumours on Thursday.
He told Tuttomercatoweb: "Everything seems to point to him staying at VfL Wolfsburg.
"Inter have been seriously trying to get him, but the player won't come cheap and maybe that's a problem."
Despite Allofs stating that a deal for Perisic was unlikely, a loan agreement could in fact be struck in the near future.
According to Sky Sport Italia, a 6 million euro loan deal is in the offing, with the option to make Perisic's stay permanent at the end of the current campaign.
