American legend Jimmy Connors has agreed to work with Eugenie Bouchard on a short-term contract, starting at the US Open next week.
Bouchard's management company issued a statement confirming the agreement between the Canadian starlet and Connors, althoug they have made "no long-term plans at this time".
The statement added that Bouchard and the eight-time major champion "have been friends for a few years" and that an agreement has been reached for the US Open, which coincides with Connors being in New York City.
Connors has worked with Andy Roddick and Maria Sharapova before, although his time with the Russian was cut short after just one match in 2013.
Bouchard had recently stopped working with Sam Sumyk, having won just three of her last 17 matches.
Nevertheless, the 21-year-old goes into the year's final grand slam title as the 25th seed and will take on local player Alison Riske in the first round.
