Oliveira released from hospital

McDowell on predicting McIlory’s success and The Open’s return to Northern Ireland

Charles Oliveira has been released from hospital following the injuries he suffered during Sunday's UFC Fight Night 74.

The Brazilian featherweight was in the second minute of his headline clash against Max Holloway when he reeled away from a takedown, clutching his collarbone. Referee Herb Dean stopped the fight and awarded Holloway a win via TKO.

While Oliveira exited the SaskTel Centre in an ambulance, a statement on the official UFC website revealed that the 25-year-old was hurt but suffered no serious injuries.

"UFC featherweight Charles Oliveira has been released from medical care in Saskatoon today and will be travelling home tomorrow (Wednesday)," read the statement.

"Preliminary test results for major chest, neck or throat injuries were negative and Oliveira will have a follow up appointment with his local physician upon returning home. Oliveira is in good spirits and appreciates the support he's received from his fans during this time."
