Parejo revels in European return

Valencia midfielder Dani Parejo has expressed his elation at the club's return to the Champions League after beating Monaco 4-3 on aggregate on Tuesday.

Despite their 2-1 loss on Tuesday night, Los Che became the record fifth Spanish club to advance to the group stages of the European Cup, ending a two-year absence from the continent's premier club competition

"This is the Champions League and we played against a team that isn't easy," the 26-year old said in the post match interview.

"Last year they got to the quarter-finals and eliminated a finalist. The important thing is we have come through the tie and we are in the Champions League.

"It was an important game for Alvaro Negredo and everyone was training very well. I told him, if he wants it, we're in the Champions League.

"He scored and contributed a lot to the team. Valencia are where they deserve to be.

"The fans are amazing. We're playing away from home and we brought so many supporters. We dedicate this victory to them.

"In this competition every game is pretty amazing. All the games are ones players like to play."
