AC Milan confirm Balotelli return

‘We need new signings to win the Champions League’, says Bayern’s Lewandowski

AC Milan have confirmed the re-signing of striker Mario Balotelli on a season-long loan deal from Liverpool.

The Italy international only joined the Reds from the Rossoneri a season ago, but struggled for form in England, scoring just three goals in all competitions.

Amid reports of his disruptive influence in training and off the pitch, Liverpool were keen to get rid of the 25-year-old as soon as possible.

And after completing his return to the San Siro, Balotelli admits he has to work hard to justify the faith put in him by Milan boss Sinisa Mihajlovic.

"I am happy to be back. I don't have much to say because I just need to train and prove myself," he told the club's website.

"Physically I am fit but I need to train with the squad. I am very motivated but I need to work hard and talk less.

"I always hoped I would return to Milan, the club hold a special place in my heart. Do I want to end my career here? I just want to get back to work and have a good season, I have to work and that is it."
