Arnautovic wants to stay in England

Malaysia Super League: JDT 0-1 PJ City – HIGHLIGHTS

Striker Marko Arnautovic admits he is unsure if he will remain at Stoke City next season, but reveals he would like to stay in the Premier League.

The forward's current deal with the Potters expires in 2017, but his impressive form this season has caught the eye of a number of clubs around Europe and, if he is going to leave, Stoke would probably prefer to sell him in the upcoming transfer window rather than losing him for free later down the line.

The club are reportedly determined to convince him to stay, though, and are negotiating a new deal with his representatives, but the 27-year-old is currently on international duty with Austria at the European Championship and unwilling to commit his future to Stoke at this stage.

"I cannot say if I will stay there or not. First of all I want to play a strong European Championships, stay fit and then we will see where I play next season," Arnautovic told reporters. "I cannot rule anything out but my goal is to stay in England.

"I feel very comfortable there and I've performed well. There I would be accepted. In Germany it was a bit different and I had ups and downs."

The striker scored 11 goals in the 33 Premier League games for the Potters last season and will play a crucial role up front for his country at the Euros in France.
