Bony hails ‘great start’ for City

‘Our minds are on the Champions League’ says Inter coach Spalletti ahead of Empoli clash

Manchester City forward Wilfried Bony is hopeful the team can maintain their focus after a flying start to the Premier League campaign.

City have produced 3-0 wins in both of their opening games, including the early clash with holding champions Chelsea last weekend, but January signing Bony is determined to keep the focus on the football, and not get carried away.

"It has been a great start for the club," he told Soccer Saturday. "The team are working hard, the balance is very good and there is also a great rhythm. We are happy about that and we want to continue like this.

"Now we are going to take the games step by step. We are a team that wants to play football so we always want the ball. We want to score a lot of goals, but every game is not the same.

"We just have to take each game seriously and concentrate 100 per cent and try to win, that's the most important thing."

Next up for Manuel Pellegrini's men is an away trip to face Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday, and the Toffees are looking good after beating Southampton 3-0 last weekend.

"We have a tough away game at Everton and we have to work hard because we know it is going to be difficult at Goodison Park," added the Ivory Coast international.

"It's going to be difficult but we go there wanting to win. Everton at home will give 100 percent, as will we, so we hope to bring the three points home."
