Spurs warned off Wanyama

Southampton boss Ronald Koeman says he is unsure of the validity behind reports that Tottenham are chasing Victor Wanyama, but has looked to save Spurs some time by stating the midfielder is not for sale.

The Kenyan international was signed by Mauricio Pochettino during his time as Saints manager, before he departed to take up the reins at White Hart Lane in 2014.

The Argentine is now believed to be keen on a reunion with the Harambee Stars ace, who is seen as the ideal replacement for Morgan Schneiderlin, who joined Manchester United during the current transfer period.

Koeman, though, has looked to nip any such talk in the bud as his side gear up for Sunday's Premier League trip to newly-promoted Watford.

"I don't know if he (Wanyama) is really a target for Tottenham; there is no bid. He is not for sale," the Dutchman told Sky Sports.
