With the new La Liga season starting this weekend, Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone is aiming to keep the 'essence' of the team intact, while also integrating new players.
Atleti start their campaign against newly-promoted Las Palmas on Saturday, when new signings such as Jackson Martinez, Stefan Savic, Yannick Ferreira Carrasco and Luciano Vietto will be hoping to make their league debuts for Los Rojiblancos.
"We're very excited to be back in the Calderon," Simeone said. "The new signings are integrating into the side and are learning what we're looking for in the game.
"Reading the squad list you can see some important names, a lot of young players like Vietto, Oliver, Carrasco or Koke, Griezmann. I'm going to look for an 11 and a bench that gives me solutions.
"We want to do everything we can not to lose the essence of the team and be up for what each game asks of us. There is some beautiful competition, particularly up front, their different strengths give us options."
The Argentine boss also gave his team selection for the opener, saying that "Oblak, Juanfran, Godin, Gimenez, Filipe; Koke, Gabi, Tiago, Oliver; Jackson and Griezmann will play."
