Garcia came into the match on the back of three straight victories over Ivanovic, and though the Serb gave a good account of herself, particularly after fighting back from an early break to take the second set and force a decider, the Frenchwoman once again came out on top in the third.

The other semi-final pits Latvia's Anastasija Sevastova against Jelena Jankovic, the highest remaining seed in the tournament.
Sevastova beat Mariana Duque-Marino 6-4, 3-6, 6-3, while Jankovic wasa 6-3, 6-3 winner over Romania's Sorana Cirstea.
