Schalke 04 forward Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting says the club's primary goal this campaign is to continue "playing attractive football".
Die Königsblauen finished in sixth place last season, in what was a below par campaign that cost former manager Roberto Di Matteo his job and saw the squad berated by some sections of the fans for what they deemed a lack of effort.
But a solid pre-season campaign and an emphatic start to competitive action saw Andre Breitenreiter's men ease past Bremen 3-0 on the opening day, and Choup-Moting is confident the club will have a good season.
"Football these days is such a huge spectacle that emotion becomes even more pronounced," the Cameroon international told the Bundesliga's official website.
"Schalke is a special club with special emotions, and things can go slightly wrong a little quicker here, but if you’ve been a professional for long enough, you know that that’s part and parcel of the business, that you can cope with it and that things can change.
"We’ve started this season well and we’re playing attractive football again. That has to be our primary goal and how we’ll get the fans on side permanently."
