Juventus captain Gianluigi Buffon says he expects a number of clubs to challenge for the Serie A this campaign following a busy transfer window.
Having dominated Italian football over the last four years, the Bianconeri go in search of a fifth consecutive Scudetto this campaign after undergoing a significant overhaul of their squad during the off-season.
The influential trio of Arturo Vidal, Carlos Tevez and Andrea Pirlo all departed the Juventus Stadium, being replaced by Paulo Dybala, Mario Mandzukic and Sami Khedira, and Buffon believes the league will be far more competitive this campaign.
"We cannot say whether Juve are stronger or weaker now,” Buffon is quoted as saying by Football Italia.
“It is a renovated Juventus, almost changed in its very foundations, because three important players left who went on a big journey with us and helped us to win a great deal.
“Others have arrived with different characteristics, but I feel with the same quality, plus they are younger. It will certainly be more difficult to win this year, but we’re not abdicating before the season has even begun.
