Lyon manager Hurbert Fournier has heaped praise on his squad following their dramatic 1-0 win away to Guingamp on Saturday.
Claudio Beauvue, signed from the opponents in the off-season, netted 11 minutes from time against his former club at Stade du Roudourou to give Les Gones their first win of the season following their 1-1 draw with Lorient on the opening day.
Fournier was pleased with the defensive nous his side showed through the 90 minutes and believes much of the result had to do with the reunited centre-back partnership of Milan Bisevac and Samuel Umtiti.
"We were up against opponents who caused us problems with their direct style," the manager told Ligue 1's official website.
"We didn't create much ourselves but defensively we were strong, and we were pleased to get our centre-back pairing together again."
