Pochettino eyes further signings

Copa America 2019: Suarez, Cavani on target in Uruguay win

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino believes the club 'need another centre-forward' following their 2-2 draw with Stoke on Saturday.

Spurs went 2-0 up at White Hart Lane through goals from Eric Dier and Nacir Chadli, but a late second-half fightback from the Potters saw Martin Arnaoutovic and Mame Diof both score in the last 12 minutes to snatch a point for the Mark Hughes' side.

Pochettino believes his players have made a good start to the campaign, despite taking just one point from their first two games, but the Argentine feels they may have to dip into the transfer market once more, despite the recent signing of Clinton N'Jie from Lyon.

"N'Jie can play in different positions. Centrally? He can play there but I think we need another centre forward," Pochettino told his post-match press conference.

"We need to add some more players to the squad but don't worry, I think today we deserved to win – it wasn't a problem about the strikers.

"It is true we have taken only one point from two games but the performance against Manchester United was good, today was very good in the first 70 minutes, but we need to be more consistent over 90 minutes."
