Williams’ domination continues

Yastremska beats Sabalenka in the Strasbourg Open sem-finals to set up Garcia final

American tennis star Serena Williams continues to dominate the WTA rankings, while Russian Maria Sharapova and Romanian Simona Halep are in second and third respectively.

Williams sits on 12,371 points, well ahead of Sharapova on 6,386 and Halep 5,151.

The American has won all three singles grand slams so far this year and should she win the US Open in September, she will complete her first a calendar grand slam.

The big loser in the latest rankings released on Monday was Poland's Agnieszka Radwanska, who fell seven places after losing in the quarter-finals in Stanford this past week.

Czech Lucie Safarova moved into seventh place while her compatriot Karolina Pliskova climbed three places to eighth after reaching the Stanford final.
