Karolina Pliskova is just one match away from her second WTA Tour title in 2015 after booking her spot in the Bank of the West Classic final with a 6-2, 7-5 victory over Varvara Lepchenko.
The 23-year-old Pliskova has enjoyed a strong 2015 campaign, having won the Prague Open in May as well as featuring in a further three finals.
Lapchenko entered the match having already completed one upset this week; knocking out top seed Caroline Wozniacki in the second round.
However, she could not replicate that form on Saturday, with an error-strewn display allowing Pliskova to claim two breaks of serve in each set.
Next on the agenda for the fourth-seeded Pliskova is a clash with Angelique Kerber of Germany who claimed a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Elina Svitolina.
Kerber needed just 56 minutes to get the job done, in a contest in which neither player produced a particularly strong performance on serve. Svitolina was able to hold her serve on just two of eight attempts, and not once in the second set.
