Valencia have announced that Pablo Piatti has put pen to paper on a new four-year contract at the Mestalla, keeping the winger at the club until 2019.

Piatti joined Los Che from Almeria in 2011 and enjoyed a solid first season two seasons at the coastal club, before being transfer listed in the 2013 off-season.

The 26-year-old, however, refused to depart the club despite interest from abroad and has now forced his way back into the reckoning under Nuno Espirito Santo.

"Today is one of the happiest days of my career and I’m really looking forward and very motivated to continue representing the club," he told Valencia’s official website.

"I’ve had to work hard and I’m very happy at this club. I’ve always had a lot of affection for these colours and I want to stay here.

"From the first moment that I was approached [about a renewal], I said I wanted [to negotiate]. Luckily, I’ve been able to fulfil this dream."
