Bayern München winger Franck Ribery was ecstatic to be back in training with the rest of the squad this week after nine months on the sidelines.
The former France international has not featured for Bayern since injuring his ankle in the Champions League clash with Shakhtar Donetsk in March this year.
Ribery underwent a difficult rehabilitation with his persistent ankle problem, which should only have kept him out of action for short period of time.
However, the 32-year-old is finally on the verge of making his comeback for Pep Guardiola's side after joining his team-mates for drills on the training ground.
"This was a super day for me and very emotional," Ribery told FCBTV. "It was the first long injury of my career and was a difficult situation for me.
"But that's football and that's life, it's important to always keep your head up and to work hard.
"It's a good feeling to be back in the team. The whole team was happy for me. It was fun."
The Frenchman will not be included in the matchday squad for the trip to Borussia MG this weekend, but could come into contention for the visit of FC Ingolstadt on December 12.
