The Indian shuttler needed just 27 minutes to complete a resounding 21-6, 21-12 victory over local player Wibowo Setyaldi Putra.
Srikanth will next play against another unseeded Indonesian, Saputra Vicky Angga.
Second seed Tommy Sugiarto was more successful, thrashing fellow Indonesian Rajid Patriawan 21-5, 21-5.
Indian third seed HS Prannoy, the defending champion this week, saw off Indonesia's Panji Ahmad Maulana 21-16, 21-16, while fifth seed Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk defeated Moch Revindra Reyhaldi 12-21, 21-9, 21-11.
The only early casualty was sixth seed Jeon Hyeok Jin, the South Korean losing 21-16, 21-16 to Muhammad Bayu Pangisthu.
Indonesian seventh seed Ihsan Maulana Mustofa and eighth seed RMV Gurusaidutt of India also advanced, the former beating Fikri Ihsandi Hadmadi 21-17, 21-9, and the latter besting Muhammad Ahdial Octa Khairulloh 21-10, 21-3.
Christie Jonatan, the ninth seed, topped Reksy Aureza Megananda 21-16, 21-16, while 10th seed Zi Liang Derek Wong was a 18-21, 21-16, 21-16 winner over Wibowo Kho Henrikho.
