The OUE Singapore Slammers will be without Novak Djokovic for the second edition of the IPTL. He was scheduled to appear for his new team when the competition kicks-off on the second of December in Japan.
However, after an extremely busy year in which the Serb won three Grand Slams and six Masters 1000 titles that will no longer be the case.
Djokovic said: "It's been a long year for me and my body needs some extra time to recover. I wish the team the very best and will join them next year."
Djokovic made his debut at the IPTL last year when he turned out for The UAE Royals. Thereafter, he committed to The Singapore Slammers until 2017.
Despite the disapointment of losing Novak Djokovic at such late notice, The OUE Singapore Slammers will not lack any fire power at this years IPTL. The team still boasts the names of Andy Murray, Carlos Moya, Karolina Pliskova, Nick Kyrgios and Stan Wawrinka.
The IPTL consits of five teams and the competition runs from the second to the twentieth of December. During that time the competition will visit Kobe, Manila, New Delhi, Dubai and Singapore.
