Swansea have secured the services of influential playmaker Gylfi Sigurdsson for a further four years until 2020.
The Iceland international initially joined the Swans on loan from Hoffenheim in January 2012. He returned to the Liberty Stadium on a permanent deal from Tottenham in 2014
Sigurdsson, who was part of the Iceland team that reached the Euro 2016 quarter-finals on their debut, still had two years to run on his current contract with the Welsh club.
"Delighted to have signed a new 4 year deal with @swansofficial. Looking forward to the new season!" the 26-year-old midfielder wrote on his Instagram account.
There had been talk that both Leicester and Everton were interested in signing Sigurdsson, who has been the club's leading assist provider for the last two seasons.
