The identity of the British and Irish Lions head coach ahead of next year's tour to New Zealand will be revealed next month.

A post on the Lions' social media accounts on Monday revealed that an announcement will be made on September 7 at a press conference in Edinburgh.

Wales head coach Warren Gatland has been tipped to lead the side again following on from the 2-1 series win over Australia in 2013, with Ireland boss Joe Schmidt and England head coach Eddie Jones also contenders for the illustrious role.

The Lions last toured New Zealand back in 2005, when they were whitewashed 3-0 in a one-sided series.
