Preview: Everton v Middlesbrough

Everton are showing some good form at the moment, which could be a problem for Middlesbrough when they head to Goodison Park on Saturday.

The Toffees have yet to lose this season and have followed up an opening-day stalemate against Tottenham with three consecutive wins over West Brom, Stoke City, and Sunderland, the most recent of which was a 3-0 win where Romelu Lukaku bagged a hat-trick at the Stadium of Light.

Boro, meanwhile, tasted their first defeat of the campaign against Crystal Palace last weekend, a result that sees them drop down to ninth in the standings following draws with the Potters and West Brom, while they beat the Black Cats in between.

Aitor Karanka's side were also eliminated from the League Cup at the hands of Fulham, and will need to be cautious to avoid getting mauled on Merseyside.

In team news, Everton boss Ronald Koeman will pick from the same squad that travelled to Wearside, with the inclusion of Enner Valencia.

The off-season signing from West Ham did not feature on Monday after being rested due to playing two full games for Ecuador during the international break, but is in line to make debut.

Karanka could be without Jordan Rhodes and Cristhian Stuani. The former hurt his groin in the loss to palace while the latter took a knock to the knee in training this week.
