Betis and Granada played out to a thrilling 2-2 draw at Estadio Benito Villamarin on Friday night in a Primera Division match that was full of action from start to finish.
The visitors seemed to have the match under control as Mehdi Carcela-Gonzalez gave them the lead in the 13th minute before Alberto Bueno made it 2-0 20 minutes later.
Alex Alegria pulled one back for Betis in the 36th minute and the home side were handed a lifeline in the 54th minute when Ruben Vezo picked up his second yellow card in the space of three minutes.
The hosts made the most of their man advantage seven minutes late when Alegria completed his brace but the excitement was far from over.
Granada won a late penalty when Antonio Adan made a clumsy lunge on Ezequiel Ponce. The striker dusted himself off and attempted to take the spot kick himself but his weak shot was easily saved by Antonio Adan.
Betis were then reduced to 10 men themselves as Daniel Gimenez earned himself two yellow cards for unsportsmanlike conduct in less than 60 seconds in the 85th minute.
Ruben Castro should have grabbed the win for the host deep into injury time, but he somehow hit his shot from point-blank range wide and the points were shared.
