Jon Jones believes that arch-rival and reigning UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier will defeat Anthony Johnson at UFC 206 in December.
Jones’ decision to back Cormier for victory comes after the 37-year-old triumphed over Johnson via submission for the vacant light heavyweight title at UFC 187 in May last year.
Both Cormier and Johnson are on three-fight winning streaks coming into the bout, with the former’s most recent win being a unanimous decision victory over Anderson Silva at UFC 200 in July, while the latter needed just 13 seconds to knock out Glover Teixeira at UFC 202 in August.
If I had to bet I would go with DC, his overall game is more complete https://t.co/PhyhxkzK5c

“If I had to bet I would go with DC, his overall game is more complete,” Jones said via Twitter.
Jones, who won the interim light heavyweight title, was supposed to face Cormier in a title unification bout at UFC 200, but the 29-year-old was pulled from the card just days before the event as he tested positive for Hydroxy-clomiphene, an anti-estrogenic agent, and Letrozole metabolite, an aromatase inhibitor during an out-of-competition drug test on June 16.
Jones is currently suspended from competing in the Octagon and his Nevada Athletic Commission hearing was recently pushed back to an unspecified date.
