Foley not banking on history

Australia fly-half Bernard Foley has played down his side's recent impressive record against Wales ahead of their Test fixture on Saturday.

The Wallabies have secured no less than 11 consecutive victories over the Welsh but Foley, who starts alongside Nick Phipps, feels that will count for little in Cardiff.

"History is probably on our side but it's something we can't afford to bank on for this weekend," he told WRU's official website on Friday.

"It's always a fiery clash and Wales traditionally play a really good style of rugby. It's going to be a great challenge and one we look forward to."

Like many in the international game, the Principality Stadium is a special ground and Foley is looking forward to running out at the venue.

"Even the lead-up to the game, walking around the streets of Cardiff… it's something you don't get to experience much," the fly-half added.

"One of the great memories I have from playing in Cardiff is the hostile crowd. When they start singing, especially during the anthems, you can feel their team lift.

"For us it's trying to block the crowd out, focus on ourselves and play a style of footy that we're proud of."
