Donald Cerrone is hungry to fight as much as possible in 2016 as he has revealed that he wants to face Demian Maia at UFC 207 on December 30.
Cerrone is already scheduled to face Kelvin Gastelum at UFC 205 in New York on November 12, which will be his fourth fight of the year.
But, should the 33-year-old get his way, he could step into the Octagon for a fifth time before 2016 is over.
“What I really want to do and what would make the most sense is Demian Maia,” he said. “See if Demian would be ready to fight on Dec. 30. That makes sense for sure. He’s out there kicking ass, so that’s who I want to fight.”
Cerrone is currently on a three-fight winning streak since he moved up to the welterweight division and believes that beating Maia will be quickest way for him to get a title shot.
“He’s probably the guy to fight next for the title, right?” the Denver native said. “He’s out there crushing everybody. You see what he’s doing to people, I like it. Bring it on.”
