Veteran men's shuttler Nguyen Tien Minh and rising women's star Vu Thi Trang both took home bronze medals at the 2013 Southeast Asian Games in Myanmar and Ha is confident that both players can repeat the feat this year.
"SEA Games has always been an important competition for Vietnam's badminton," Ha told reporters. "We do not have much chance in front of Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia, which are very strong teams and at levels much higher than us. Therefore, our aim is to play our best to win a medal."
Ha also feels that Vietnam could win a medal in the women's double event as Trang and her partner Nguyen Thi Sen were both in excellent form during the Sudirman Cup last month, where Vietnam gained promotion to Group II after crushing Australia, Switzerland and Italy.
"The two girls make a perfect combine," Ha said. "If they can keep up their performance, a berth in the final is possible."
