The Los Angeles Kings eased past the Detroit Red Wings while the Anaheim Ducks edged the Boston Bruins in Thursday’s NHL action.
Tyler Toffoli scored twice in the Kings 4-1 rout of the Red Wings to help them to their 15th win of the season.

"We were good all night, and even when we took penalties we were good on the kills," Toffoli told ESPN.
"The Buffalo game was really a wake up for us, and we stepped up. We can't stop now, though. We have to turn this into a streak."
The Ducks would eke out a narrow 4-3 win over the Bruins, with Josh Manon and Rickard Rakell scoring for the Anaheim outfit.
Elsewhere, Richard Panik netted the winner for the Chicago Blackhawks in the third period to help them to a 5-4 win over the New York Islanders.
The Arizona Coyotes have former Maple Leaf player Peter Holland to thank for a shootout winner against the Toronto franchise. The Coyotes won 3-2.
The St Louis Blues came back from 2-1 down to defeat the New Jersey Devils 5-2.
Minnesota Wild notched up their sixth straight victory with a 5-2 win over the Nashville Predators.
Finally, the Florida Panthers lost to the Winnipeg Jets 3-4 and the New York Rangers kept a clean sheet against the Dallas Stars, winning 2-0.
