As the word war continues between the two flagship franchises of the SMC and MVP Groups, San Miguel Beer sharpshooter Marcio Lassiter opted to keep mum this time.
Lassiter deflected any comments on TNT head coach Nash Racela’s accusations on Game 4 that the Beermen are getting ‘special treatment’ in the league’s officiating.
The Fil-Am gunner was named by Racela as one of the Beermen clamoring for a fair share of calls after their back-to-back losses in the series back in Game 2 and 3, which the TNT young mentor believes prompted on how the manner of officiating was called in SMB’s win in the fourth game.
“I don’t look at the past, I try to dwell in the future,” Lassiter told FOX Sports on Thursday night as TNT whipped San Miguel, 101-94. “I don’t look anything in the past.”
SMC sports director Alfrancis Chua though earlier addressed the media, denying any allegations of Racela.
Racela, on his part, also chose not to fire back on the issue.
“Less is more, less talk is more,” quipped Racela in his post-game presser.
Instead of making a big deal out of it, Lassiter is geared towards finding out necessary adjustments against TNT’s defense as the Beermen tries to force a rubber match.
“We just need to bounce back, look at what we did wrong and bounce back,” stressed Lassiter. “We’ll be ready for Saturday.”
