Chen: Winning is what matters

Dominant Sindhu and Momota cruise into final

Chen played a key role in China's semi-final tie with Indonesia on Saturday, downing Christie Jonatan 21-10, 21-15 in the men's singles. However, the 26-year-old could be replaced by Lin Dan in Sunday's final against Japan.

The 2014 World Champion believes that if the Chinese management believe Lin is the better man for the job, then he will happily step aside.

"All that matters is that China wins the finals, and not which one will be playing," he said.

Of his match against Jonatan, Chen said that he let his level drop slightly in the second game.

"In the second game… I had a similar performance with the Indonesian player. I was quite conservative in my play and he was aggressive," he exaplained.
