Tony Ferguson will not feature on the UFC 209 fight card at all after he declined an offer to fight Michael Johnson.
The UFC event was rocked by the withdrawal of Khabib Nurmagomedov at the 11th hour after he was hospitalised due to weight-cut issues on Friday. The undefeated Russian was later released from hospital but not medically cleared to fight.
In an effort to keep Ferguson on the card, the UFC made a late offer to fight Johnson. But he declined, saying it was not for the interim lightweight title and that it was for less money, so he was not interested.

The duo had met once before, with Johnson winning via a unanimous decision in May 2012. Ferguson has won nine consecutive fights since then.
