The Malaysian outfit needed to avoid defeat in their final Group G fixture against Global FC to ensure they joined South China in progressing to the knockout round of the continental competition.
It was Global FC who dominated proceedings on the night, but they were unable to break through the Pahang defence, with the game ending all square at 0-0.
Speaking after the match Hassan admitted that his side had endured a difficult night, but praised them for getting the job done.
“We had a very tough time. We were cautious but we were also disciplined,” said Hassan.
“We had showed very good spirit. The boys gave everything they had. There was plenty of pressure on us. Global played wonderful football and they made it hard for us. But we got what we wanted which was to qualify for the next round.”
