Mirallas scored in last week’s 1-0 win over Burnley and speaking ahead of the Super Sunday clash with Manchester United, Martinez was quick to put right talk of the Belgian being unsettled at Goodison Park.
“The honest truth is we don’t know what is going to happen in the future, but I heard somewhere that he had one year left and it was an unsettled situation, but that’s not the case,” he said.??
“He has two years left. When you see him on the pitch he brings a real desire to score goals, he brings a goalscoring threat that is quite special.??
“All I want is for Kevin to enjoy his football and carry on performing well. Sometimes there’s been too much said on the outside, but I’ve seen Kevin work really hard.??
“He had a little injury a while ago and I think that stopped the very good level that he had, but it was great to see him scoring at the weekend.??
“It doesn’t matter if he has one year left or six years left, what’s more important is that he is happy and feels part of the project and an important player going forward.??
“So you have to sit down and make sure that everyone is fully committed and part of the future and I don’t see that as an issue to sort now at this present time.”
