Former world champion Paulie Malignaggi is set to join Conor McGregor in his preparations to fight Floyd Mayweather.
Malignaggi retired in March and previously branded the prospect of UFC lightweight champion McGregor taking on Mayweather as “an absolute joke”.
However, the 36-year-old is due to join McGregor’s camp as a sparring partner for the Irishman, ahead of his August 26 encounter with Mayweather.

"I have the mentality of being a member of the team and trying to benefit it as much as I can," Malginaggi said.
“I've never been the sparring partner since my early twenties. I'm not a 22-year-old going in there to make a name for myself.

"They are the bosses and they run it how they want to. I'm curious about it, to see how Conor has progressed in these months."
Malignaggi won 36 of his 44 fights during a 16-year career and held world titles at super lightweight and welterweight.
