Room for Improvement: Former Champions Kashima & Guangzhou must step up

Here is a wrap of the three matches from the West Zone.

Group B: Taraji Wadi Al-Nes 1-0 Al Shorta
Palestine's Wadi Al-Nes beat Al Shorta of Iraq 1-0 thanks to an 83rd minute goal by Sameeh Abuhammad at Faisal Al-Husseini International Stadium.

Al Shorta Are top of the group with Wadi Al-Nes on four points but that could all change as both Al-Hadd and Al Jazeera on three points must still play on Tuesday.


Group B: Al Jazeera 1-0 Al Hidd

Al Jazeera of Jordan beat Bahrain’s Al Hidd 1-0 at the King Abdullah International Stadium on Tuesday.

The win keeps Al Jazeera on top of the group on six points followed by Al Shorta and Wadi Al-Nes on five points and then Al Hidd with three points.


Group A: Al Nahda 4-1 Salam Zgharta

Al Nahda hammered Salam Zgharta 4-1 thanks to three early first-half goals at the Buraimi Sports Complex.

A first-half brace by Ely Ould Voulany in the 15th and 20th minutes got the Oman side off to a great start before a second brace by  Mansoor Al Nuaimi in the 28th and 91st minutes sealed the emphatic win. Zgharta got a goal in the 49th minute through Lucas Galan.

The result means that Al Nahda are on six points tied with Al Wehdat and Al Wahda while Zgharta are bottom with three points.
