De Grandhomme replaces Solia in NZ A squad

Marquez suffers big crash in MotoGP Australian GP FP1

A left hamstring injury has seen Sean Solia be replaced by Colin de Grandhomme in the New Zealand A side touring India.

Solia suffered the injury whilst training, and though not considered serious, has ruled him out of action for two weeks and all five scheduled One Day games against India A.

New Zealand A Manager and Black Caps Selector, Gavin Larsen, said it's unfortunate timing for Solia.

“We’re really disappointed for Sean that he won’t get the opportunity on this occasion to test himself at a higher level,” said Larsen.

“Sean is an exciting player and we were were looking forward to seeing him get the chance to step up. To be ruled out just before the start of the series is very unlucky."

De Grandhomme, who has already been named in the initial Black Caps ODI squad to face India later this month, will join the New Zealand A side in Visakhapatnam and is likely to be available for the final two One Day matches.

Glenn Phillips has also joined New Zealand A, having replaced Jeet Raval following the two First Class matches.
