UE Lady Warriors nip hardluck La Salle in UAAP women’s basketball

Marquez suffers big crash in MotoGP Australian GP FP1

University of the East proved tougher down the stretch as it escaped with a 69-68 victory over De La Salle to finish third in the first round eliminations of the UAAP Season 80 women’s basketball tournament on Saturday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The Lady Archers had a chance to snatch the win but Johanna Arciga missed her potential game-winning putback in the dying seconds to fall to their fifth loss in 7 matches.

Love Sto. Domingo had 17 points and 15 rebounds while Eunique Chan and Joyce Francisco each had 13 points for the Lady Warriors.

UE will enter the second round with a 5-2 card behind defending champion National University (7-0) and second-running University of Santo Tomas (6-1).
