The unbeaten 38-year-old has never touched the canvas during his perfect professional career but reports had suggested he was dropped for over 10 seconds during a recent session with Judah, who he defeated on points back in 2006.
But Leonard Ellerbe, CEO of Mayweather Promotions, has denied the latest speculation surrounding Mayweather ahead of his huge fight with Manny Pacquiao on May 2. ??????
When asked about the claims in an exclusive interview, Ellerbe told Sky Sports News HQ: ???False. No. Zab is in camp. Zab is a tremendous fighter – he???s been helping with the preparations along with several other sparring partners.
???They are really pushing Floyd, but nothing like that. It never happened.???
Mayweather???s legacy as a modern great will be on the line against Pacquiao, his long-term rival for the status as the top fighter in the sport.
But Ellerbe insists Mayweather is sticking to the same training regime which has brought him 47 victories.
???Floyd isn???t doing anything different from how he would normally prepare,??? said Ellerbe. ???Floyd is treating this fight and the preparation as business as usual.
???He always prepares and takes every challenge very, very seriously and he prepares at his best for each and every fight. This fight will be no different.
???This has been the most anticipated fight in the history of the sport and eyeballs all across the globe will be tuned in come May 2 to witness this great, great fight.
???But Floyd???s preparations will not change. His approach will be – Manny Pacquiao is just another opponent and he???ll go in there and show all the fans across the globe why he???s been the best fighter for his whole generation.???
