The 30-year-old was forced to settle for second place at last week's Founders Cup event, with Hyo Joo Kim taking the honours. It was Lewis' second runner-up berth of the year and her eighth since the start of 2014.
Lewis has 13 professional wins to her name, including three last year, and while frustrated to have fallen just short she has no doubts that a win is just around the corner.
The American fought tooth and nail to beat Kim and it was a close run battle as the pair matched each other's birdie runs for a period. And this gives Lewis the belief to know a successful Sunday will soon come.
"I fought like crazy,” Lewis told the LPGA website of her duel with Kim. “That back nine was pretty cool, the way we made birdies back and forth and on top of each other.
“Really, the way I played on the front, to think I could still be within a shot coming up those last few holes was pretty amazing,” she added. “I’m proud of the way I hung in there.”
