Park aiming for fourth HKPGA title

Unho Park is aiming to win a fourth consecutive Ageas HKPGA Championship when the tournament kicks off this week.

The Australian, who lives in Singapore, was the first ever player to win three consecutive titles at the tournament and now hopes to extend that record to four.

Park is pleased with how he played in 2014, and believes he can go one better in the year ahead. He finished 27th on the Order of Merit thanks to three top 10 finishes.

He said: "It was a pretty decent year, one that was really set up by my third HKPGA win in January. It allowed me to go into the season with confidence and I was able to build on that and put in some good performances on tour.

"It's always a joy coming back to play in Hong Kong. I've been fortunate enough to play really well on my previous visits and it would be a dream to make it four in a row."

Park is will have to fight off challenges from the fancied local player Timothy Tang Tsz-hang, the 2014 HKPGA order of merit winner.

Tang said: "There is a lot of expectation on the Hong Kong players but with the tournament being played on our home courses, we should hold the advantage."
