Maalaala Mo Kaya’s drama treatment for the life story of volleyball superstar Sisi Rondina finally aired last night and it garnered positive reactions from fans.
MMK, the country’s longest running drama anthology series, gave life to the story of Rondina, a multi-awarded beach volleyball stalwart and a UAAP MVP from University of Sto. Tomas.
Portrayed by no less than Kim Chiu, the episode showed important bits and pieces of Rondina’s life, including why she is called Sisi, her struggles with her family and her journey with UST.
The hashtag #MMKSisiRondinaStory reached number 1 in the Philippines’ top Twitter trends last night whilst peaking at no. 4 worldwide.
Here are some of the reactions on last night’s Rondina-inspired episode:
“Dim, ibabalik natin ang Golden Tigresses sa Final Four ng UAAP. Game?”
“Game!”
And the rest is history. #MMKSisiRondinaStory ππ§‘

The Sisi Rondina’s story is a reminder that athletes are real people with real problems outside the court. We don’t see their struggles. So think before you bash them for some stupid and selfish reasons. #MMKSisiRondinaStory
