Energized Foton ends skid, sends Cignal crashing back to earth

Foton made sure the joy of Cignal’s breakthrough win in the PSL All-Filipino Conference was short-lived.

In the process, the Tornadoes arrested what has been an alarming losing streak, too.

Jaja Santiago asserted herself in the middle as Foton bamboozled the HD Spikers, 25-20, 25-21, 25-9, Sunday at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

The 6-foot-5 star had 14 points off 11 hits and 3 blocks while Cherry Rondina and Angeli Araneta combined for 19 markers for the Tornadoes, which evened its record to 3-3 with the win.

Less than 24 hours after edging Generika for their first victory in the conference, Cignal came crashing back to earth with yet another lethargic performance, especially in the final set.
