With only Gyzelle Sy as the major piece gone from their bronze finish in UAAP Season 78, FEU head coach Shaq delos Santos said his team will bare it all in the ongoing Shakey’s V-League Collegiate Conference.
Hard-charging from the get-go, the Lady Tamaraws finished off NCAA queens College of St. Benilde, 25-16, 25-18, 25-18, at the Philsports Arena Monday.
And even with the next UAAP season almost half-a-year away, Delos Santos wants his squad to get rounded into form and develop consistency in time for the collegiate wars.
Delos Santos decided not to field in any guest player and pushed his veterans like Bernadeth Pons and Remy Palma into leadership roles.
His move has seemed to pay off early as the Morayta crew demolished the Lady Blazers in virtually all aspects of the game, with the 34-19 discrepancy in attacking epitomizing their charge.
But even with the impressive debut, Delos Santos believes the Lady Tamaraws have a lot to show in their next few games.
Yung improvement ng team malaki pa, matahal pa yung liga,” he said. “Lahat yan ieexpect natin na magiging laban na matindi.” — By John Chester Fajardo
